Fanshawe College is always looking at new ways to help improve the learning experience for students while enhancing how faculty develop their course materials. Fanshawe developed a blueprint to provide faculty with a framework to help with the course development process. The blueprint includes starter content templates, faculty resources, pre-built discussions, scavenger hunt quiz, and more. In this session, we will discuss how we created the blueprint, the benefits of it, how it aligns with Quality Matters, what it looks like and how we rolled it out.
During this session we will:
- Present the Reaching Through the Screen: Enhancing Engagement in Online Course Development and Delivery research project
- Share feedback from faculty and students about the project and the blueprint
- Walk through our blueprint course layout
- Discuss the rationale for the blueprint templating, file management set up, professors supports, alignment with Quality Matters
